Discuss with a coaching colleague whether or not you agree with the following statement: Ball handling techniques do not need to be taught. Just put the kids in a competitive situation and let them play – they will work out the “moves” that work best for them.
Assess how well each of your players beat opponents off the dribble (creating scoring opportunities for themselves or a team mate). Have your players rate their “ball handling” skills? Do the player ratings agree with your assessment?
